If he had turned the phone off, and left it off for a full month, THEN
I would believe AT&T had incorrectly billed him. 2MB/mo with no apps
running doesn't sound unusual to me at all. I admit I'm not an iPhone
user, but based on my experience with other PDAs and smartphones I
would expect that the phone still does things like synchronize its
clock, check for software updates, push some bits of information to
the carrier, etc.
2MB/month is equivalent to sending two 1.5kB packets once per hour. Am
I the only one to whom that sounds like perfectly normal "idle"
activity?
PS: I know he said 10 days... so let's say it's six packets per hour,
if you want to be pedantic. Still reasonable, imho.
