[ale] how do you delete IMAP server messages and not local copies

Hi Collin,

Thanks for the note, I never got IMAP working to my satisfaction. I have 
to stick to POP. The processing of message status information is buggy 
in Eudora OSE (Open Source Edition), and probably Thunderbird too since 
they share the same codebase. I wasn't able to find anything in 
Thunderbird for just deleting stuff from the server. Since my mailing 
lists accumulate several thousand messages per month, blowing by my 
quota on the server is a concern. I'm going to save all these tips in 
case I tackle IMAP again. Perhaps a future upgrade will fix some of the 
bugs in Eudora. Thanks again for the suggestions.

(PS - If you email me and don't get a quick response, you might want to
call on the phone.  I get about 300 emails per day from alternate energy
mailing lists and such.  I don't always see new messages very quickly.)
