[ale] OT: gas going up this weekend

That is why it is so annoying when someone posts something like "60
cents isn't a big impact".   It encourages people to think there is
nothing that can be done and worse yet that there is nothing that SHOULD
be done.

 

I often feel the news media is in the pocket of big oil because every
time there is talk of a boycott or other punitive measures they quickly
air stories about how these wouldn't help.   Of course the "experts"
they use to explain why it wouldn't are all from the oil industry.   If
it were really a matter of oil futures and speculation I daresay a
general boycott WOULD hurt the folks trying to make a quick buck.

 

Status quo is Latin for "the mess you're in".  :-)
