[ale] mp3 player

The thing to be wary of is MP3 players which use "MTP" instead of
"UMS" or "MSC". Players of the latter two types just mount as USB Mass
Storage. MTP ("Media Transfer Protocol") is a Microsoft invention
designed to make it easier to apply DRM to your music. Some MP3
players (e.g. the Creative Zen Mozaic ) will only allow you to
transfer music to them through this mechanism. It's possible to get
your linux box to use MTP, but frankly it's a PITA and given the large
number of MP3 players out there which simply mount as USB Mass Storage
it's easiest to steer clear of it.
