I'm glad you posted this...  It brings up an interesting question...

Is anyone out there contracting?  

More importantly, when these recruiters contact you for contract positions, would you ever consider leaving a full-time position (especially in an economy like this) to take one?

Or, do you (as I) more feel that contract gigs are sort of a holdover until you can find a perm gig?

I'd certainly take one if I was unemployed, but wouldn't generally consider one to leave a FT/Perm position.

Discussion?  Thoughts?
