Jeff,

I get the message. Mine was not as light-hearted. Mea culpa.
I am spending way too much time studying what passes as evidence or
definition of terrorismists.
I have just finished a gem of an article that boils down to "even if
there is never an example of
cyberterorism does not mean it is not a real and present threat."
A better proof of the existence of the tooth fairy, I have never seen!

Do what you want with your words. The trick, IMO, is not just one of
resisting one's own vocabulary
being subverted by W and neocons, or by P&G or Nike,
but finding and setting our own linguistic frameworks,
which is a singular failing of the progressives.

-Wolf

PS IMO, the Reps and Dems are basically on the same side, like the
professional
wrestlers in the ring are basically providing entertainment for us, the
politicians are basically
providing entertainment to keep us from paying attention to the real
issues.

My post was meant to be tongue in cheek.

The word “terrorist” was around long before W and his cronies co-opted
it for “the war on terror” and as with all other forms of political
correctness I won’t allow my choice of words to be dictated by those
that would like to ascribe general terms to specific ideology.

Clearly when I said “eco-terrorist” I was NOT using “terrorist” the same
way as those who believe only acts carried out by Al-Qaeda and its
affiliates are terrorism. What I said had a clear context and if you’d
prefer to pretend your interpretation of it outside the context is
meaningful then feel free to do so. However, don’t expect me to lend
credence to the “we’re offended by what you might have meant rather than
what you said” world view.

@Jeff - Can we let go of the "xx-terrorist" terminology? Unless, of
course you can find a definition that is held by more than three people
at a time, it is a religious-war term for persons we don't agree with,
and adds nothing to the conversation. It is the linguistic framing that
makes the neo-con forever-war concept seem sane to some people.

Extreme in my moderation,
Wolf

The cynic in me at the time of the explosion made me wonder if some
eco-terrorist hadn't somehow caused it in reaction to the then recent
announcement of expanded offshore drilling by President Obama.
