[ale] usb drives suck

Geoffrey,

USB2 should get you about 1 GB / min.

Not tool bad, but firewire or eSata is better. My favorite is
definitely eSata. I'm wiping 2 eSata drives right now. The old 320GB
drive is doing only 2GB/min. The new 500GB set to 3gbit/sec is doing
4GB a minute. Both of these are being wiped by the same motherboard
simultaneiously, so were sending about 6 GB/min out to the drives.

fyi: A lot of servers in use still have USB-1 only interfaces. Way,
way slower than USB-2. I don't know the real speed, but it feels like
a GB per hour. As soon as I realize it is USB-1, I look for another
way. Even 10mbit/sec eithernet is faster than USB-1 I think.
