Yeah, tried that, wasn't much help:

ssh  -v 192.168.1.72

There's a /var/log/security.log, no help there.  There's also a 
/var/log/security/ directory.  No help there either.

This is so weird as my primary box is the same distro, never encountered 
this issue.
