[ale] OT: a question on cable connections

Of course to actually _do_ something like this will land the dumb
schmuck in a world of really bad trouble so while it feels good to
joke about it, actually doing is a really bad bad bad idea. The phone
co has lots of really good lawyers that would love to eat the idiot
who actually did something this stupid and violent.

So the only effective alternative is to vote with your checkbook and
get a new provider. And demand a refund of all money paid in already
since they can't provide reliable service.

BTW: If the phone co can't make the line stay up plugged in at the
box, it's _really_ their problem. Older neighborhoods are in need of
having wires replaced on the poles. 40+ years of swinging in the wind
will cause stress cracks around the support braces. The low frequency
voice as not affected but the higher frequency data is scattered by
the surface defects.

And then there's corrosion....
