[ale] e1000 loses link to switch

Yes. It's not a problem with the Centos box but with the switch. The switch
has a flaky power issue that is causing the link indication voltage to
either drop below threshold or an overheat issue causing a drop out. I wrote
a series of little scripts to test for link every few minutes when I had
this issue and restart the networking (network off, unload modules, network
start). That would re-init the switch ports but was not a real solution.
When I replaced the switch, the problem went away.
