See GreatALEPicnic and GreatALEPicnicTwo in the wiki for Jim K's and my
efforts on this important event.
August seems a little --well-- intense. But heck, we could plan it for then
or for the fall. I can't immediately volunteer my place until I speak to She
who Must Be Obeyed. Perhaps you can scare up a suitable place?
