I saw an article somewhere about something akin to ressurecting UUCP,
except with a USB-drive based 'sneakernet' based on people making regular
visits to different towns in Africa. They already had someone that made a
loop of all the villages in a certain region by motorcycle to deliver
medicines, so they gave him a thumb drive also so the schools and hospitals
get their bi-weekly stick drop from the rest of the world.
I know there are different store-forward based systems for HF radio, but
not sure what the rules for HF are for commercial use.
