I can't find that package through http://packages.debian.org/etch/. My 
guess it that Debian decided to discontinue their em64t kernel packages 
and that package is just for transitional purposes. Check 'aptitude show 
linux-image-2.6.18-em64t-p4' Does it depend on 
linux-image-2.6.18-amd64-k8_2.6.18+6etch1 ?

Remember, AMD64 == INTEL64 == EM64T == IA-32e == x86-64 == x64.
