Samsung is also Linux friendly and affordable.

I DO NOT recommend HP because of the expiration date issues with their
newer hardware and the consumables. 

Both Brother and Samsung supplies are carried by Office Depot. 

BTW: I have a Brother HL-4070CDW (color, duplexing, network with
wireless built in). The print output is terrific and the paper handling
is very good. They ship it with full toner cartridges and not starter
cartridges. This is not the basic home user printer at $600.
