well, He talked with his ISP today trying to get his even older PC running 
WinMe working.. seems like he got connected, but still couldn't browse the 
web or get mail. I think it might be a proxy setting, but I'm not sure. He 
said tomorrow he would go to Best Buy and get a new modem for linux, so it 
looks like he will stick with it!!!
