[ale] Linksys WPC54G for Linux?

I just got a Linksys WPC54G to use on my Linux ThinkPad.

Was this a good choice?  How do I get it working with Slackware and/or
Mandrake?

If I should take it back to Frys, what do you recommend from Frys or
Microcenter?  (I'm in a hurry; I"m flying out next Sunday.)
