Yes.  Unlike the utilities that are present in DOS and Windows.
Unix-like systems don't have a notion of binary vs. text file.  Every
file is just a container of arbitrary data.  This is even reflected in
the C library, where options like "b" have no effect under Unix-like
systems, whereas they do have an effect on Windows and DOS-based
systems.
