True.  They're asking you to cash a check.  Which means that you have to
have an account at the bank with a credit balance large enough against
which the bank can draw in case the check is no good.  Thus, they (the
perps) have a way of indirectly getting to your cash balance.

But suppose, for a moment, that all the "customer" checks they send you
to cash are actually valid checks.  They clear normally; nothing bounces
back to your account.  You send the cash less your fee back to them via
a wire or Western Union or something.  What this amounts to is money
laundering.  So the perps get their cash, and you go to jail for
participating in a money laundering scheme.  And if the feds don't get
you for that, they can always go after you for income tax evasion.
After all, they got Al Capone on that.

Nice job, eh?  What was it 50k a year? 60k?  Not enough for a good lawyer.
