hello all,
I will be moving soon and my position will be open...the official
description is below...although the description may not capture it, it
is a fun place, there is a lot of room to try new things (encouraged)
...we use FLOSS  wherever possible...run your distro. of choice on
your desktop...and the product is about as geeky as it gets...and the

Title: Build/Release Engineer

Emerging small company seeks candidate for build/release engineer role for
team of 15 developers. Must be self-motivated, with balance of daily
operational and maintenance tasks along with project work associated with
the development environment. Must be good communicator with service provider
approach to work performed. Expected to be early starter, but with some
flexibility as to how full week is worked.

Required skills:
* System administrator skills for Linux environment
* Experience with scripting (Bash and Perl preferred)
* Ability to manage build environment, including familiarity with source
control (CVS preferred) and standard build tools (e.g make, ant)
* Familiarity with RPM or comparable package builder
* 2- or 4-year technical degree, or equivalent experience
* 2 years experience in related role required (such as build management,
system administration, IT/helpdesk services)

Desirable skills:
* Experience managing VMware environment, including the creation, management
and deployment of VMware images
* Creation and management of a wiki
* Operation of nagios (system health management tool)
* Operation of bacula (or comparable backup system environment)

Responsibilities:
* Daily verification of automated build results, including troubleshooting
issues, identifying and resolving problems (with assistance from developers)
* Daily maintenance of the development lab and servers, including deployment
of new hardware, health monitoring for existing services
* Contributes to planning for hardware requirements as team grows
* Project work focused on enhancing the existing build process, with
assistance from developers
