[ale] SMTP fails at Motels ok at Home

May be blocking that port for all connections not serviced directly by bellsouth, maybe because its a little more difficult to shut down a brute force attacker as easily outside their network... Sometimes ISPs open up port 50 for off-network smtp access... I would try other ports...

I have Bellsouth DSL at home, thunderbird and smtp work fine there

Get on the Road, staying at Hamptons Mostly and it never works.

Someone said the ISP for Hamptons is blocking port 25.

Wireshark shows SMTP SYN[0] records going out but never any SMTP
coming back. Anyone know if they are indeed blocking port 25

If they are blocking, is there a secured port work around as I cant stand WebMail most of
the time and it is getting annoying to say the least

thanks
jt
