[ale] Nfs mounts are EXTREMELY slow

Nothing else wrt networking seems slow.  The resolv.conf is pointing to 
my westell modem and that just bounces to bellsouth's servers.  I can 
ping, ssh, wget pretty much whatever I want from all the systems without 
delay.  Is there something specific I could look for?
