[ale] what is a good offsite back up proposal?

I've developed some sophisticated scripts that use tar and ssh at the
lowest level to do offsite backups (and, optionally, onsite backups to
disk and/or tape).  Some of my clients have me backup to my Terabyte
store in New Hampshire.

Optionally the backups themselves can be encrypted for added security.
Of course, ssh encrypts the data going across the Internet.

This protects against a catastrophy in the South.  This has worked very
well and the software has years of good performance behind it.

Some instead will backup Server A to Server B and vice versa.  One just
must remember to schedule the full backups for different days.
