I think what has most people up in arms is the idea that THIS LIST would
be moderated and those of us that wanted an unmoderated list would have
to sign up for a NEW list.

I say, if people desire to have a more technical list then just create
one.  A newly created and moderated list could be posted clearly on the
webpage and maybe in the signatures.  Then those that wanted to be
active in the more technical list would, and those of us that might want
to see if there was any "low hanging fruit" could view the digests or
read said list.

ALE is NOWHERE NEAR a high traffic list and I have serious doubts that
an ALE-Tech list would have much impact on my inbox.

...then we could call ale at ale.org the "lounge" or something and serve
overpriced drinks to ease the pain of listening to bad music.
