Nah.  "ifconfig eth0 down ; ifconfig eth0 up" will do it. However, 
bringing an interface
down will delete any route that uses that interface, and upping it again 
only adds
a route to the interface's local net; so you may also need to "route 
add" some stuff
after the "ifconfig up".
