[ale] OT: Comcast

The $5/mo charge is for a total of 5 static IP's with SpeedFactory.

I have all 5 utilized from DNS to WEB to MAIL and SSL Webhost. The last one is the firewall/gateway into my client machines all over the house. Single IP - 5 machines. It works out *very* well for me, and for the price of cable TV (which I finally ditched), I can have 3M service with 5 IP's, manage my own DNS, WEB, and Mail, and don't have to be bugged with waiting on someone else to make something happen.

I have had maybe 3 dropouts in the 2 years I've been here. Two were Bellsouth's fault, and the other was Katrina's fault.

I've always wanted a place that would just gimme some IP's, bandwidth, and leave me the hell alone. Speedfactory foots that bill.

The support guys are all Linux savvy too, which helps out a lot if I ever need to call in. I never get a "reboot it" or such. I can't tell you how nice it is to not get some kid with a notebook full of canned answers or a mid-life loser with no concept of anything outside of his windows "hard drive" at home.

No, it's just one IP address.
