There are Linux solutions for this.

You've got to versions of mahjongg available with Linux.  I don't 
understand why you would want to run something that's not native.

Ton of other games available as well.  Not as many for the toddler but some.

That being said, I'd look to one of the more polished versions of wine, 
either crossover office or xwine.  Problem is, crossover is likely to be 
a better choice for Act and xwine a better choice for gaming.  But, you 
should be able to install both happily.
