I wanted to get Vonage when I moved out here in the sticks, north of
Athens, but all I could get was Bellsouth DSL. I also paid ( through
the nose) extra to get a local Atlanta #, because both my ( poor) kids
live in that area, and Mom wants them to be able to call us locally.
I've been happy enough with DSL, though it isn't the 6Mb speed of
cable, it is fast enough and always onlline, and works with SUSE :)

I've thought about just getting barebones phone service AND a Vonage
line, that would probably still be cheaper than the huge bloated
package I got from Bellsouth.. Oh for the pre-1984 days when us
Bellheads got free phone service..
