An accidentally deleted partition was restored using "gpart".

The previously [see below in previous email] sent description is the exact reported table before the deletion.

The restoration as reported by gpart was correct but according to fdisk... the boundaries are 
not correct and once they are restored, I suspect that all'll be well. Since they can all be mounted
now and the data accessed but booting up is flawed since LILO is unsatisfied, ostensibly
because of the boundary flaws.

  for one thing, GRUB cares about /boot and usually it is easier to have /boot (128M required)  than to have / under 1024 cylinder.
  could you please 

    a.. elaborate on history of your 'rebuilding' on why & how? 
    b.. make sure you have good backup of the system, before you attempt to manipulate partition table.
    c.. paste your current partition table (fdisk -l /dev/hda)?

    I am assuming that after translating the above table to cylinders, that I can
    then alter the existing layout using fdisk, to return the disk to it's original
    pattern, hence reenabling LILO.

      use GRUB if possible.
      if not, (if my memory serves)

        a.. enable LBA for the HD in BIOS and/or inside lilo.conf. 
        b.. Or, make sure / partition is under 1024 cylinder.
