Because I am a bit "old school".  ;-)

One point I didn't make before is that with Linux, like OS X, there are 
a lot of parallel apps that match feature to feature to some Win apps, 
but they require learning new processes (i.e. compare Gimp to 
Photoshop).  Advanced users can probably switch from one to the other 
with little effort, the problem is the masses of the world are advanced 
users (they are creatures of habit).
