[ale] Received new (old) Cisco Switch

I just opened a box of an old 2900 we bought off ebay.  It is a 2U 16
port with two 4port Typhoon cards.  What are those cards used for?  Are
they used as an uplink to other 2900s?  Why not simply just use one of
the 16 ports as an uplink?
