[ale] USB external HDD

I have  bought two Western Digital external USB hard drives from Fry's, both 
80 GB.  They work nicely (no problems) with Slackware 9.1, 10.1 (both with 
"stock" kernels) and Windows 98se.  I don't remember having to load any 
special drivers for Linux; I think I did for Win.
