Much cheaper than creating and deploying your own solution for only
18-20 closets.

We used the Weather Duck to test against our own temp sensor. We were
adding them to the BOM of our management device and since we had to eat
the costs of each one it made no sense to purchase 100s of the WD to
simply give them away. We ending up spending about 10k in development
in hardware and software to create an intelligent device that monitored
temp only for now but can be expanded in the future. We had to develop
all the firmware and code on our management device. Including all SNMP
code.

In some cases it is cheaper to but then make but due to our COGS we
decided to make them from scratch. We also have them on our price sheet
to sell.
