[ale] mplayer and DVD's

I have a DVD I'd like to play on my laptop.  It is 3GB's in size so I'd
like to somehow convert only the video and sound pieces to CD-R's.  I'm
using mplayer and I've learned that there is nothing special about a DVD
media to give it the quality.  It is simply size.  so if I can cut the
episodes off the DVD and place them on separate CD-Rs then I'm in
business.  I've decoded and converted the DVD into a disk image.  I've
played this image using he following command:

mplayer -dvd 1 -dvd-device /window/C/DVD_IMAGE.ISO
