[ale] Image programs for Linux?

The programs I hear most referred when someone asks for something like 
this are gqview and gthumb.  I've personally used Gthumb and like it a 
lot for picture managing, but I'm not sure that it has all the editing 
features you're looking for.  At least it's a start.
