[ale] SuSE 8.2 loaded -- what about updates?

I have found that it's a rare occasion that I update my SuSE install. 
When I do though, I generally build/install from tar.

There are some sites out there that have rpms packaged for SuSE, but 
I've not spent a lot of effort to locate them.
