I have an Exstreamer (by Barix) that I'm quite pleased with.  There are a number
of web based interfaces that will run on Linux and stream to it.  I rolled my
own perl scripts to stream to it.  There is ample programmer documentation,
although not for a novice.  If you do any network programming, you will be very
pleased by the device.
