We have a Dell Inspiron 8500 that the graphics are wonderful on.  The top of 
the line Inspirons can have the Nvidia Mobile GeForce chip for accelerated 
OpenGL.  Your games will work great!  Plus, if weight is not an issue you can 
have a 1600x1200 resolution plus writeable DVD in the laptop.  Plenty of 
options and EmperorLinux will provide the whole package with Dell's hardware 
warranty and Emperor's software warranty.  Definitely worth it the extra from 
Emperor to have all the hardware working right from the get go.  You can get 
the extended Dell warranties since Emperor has an agreement with Dell.  Also, 
the wifi builtin will work since Emperor has their own line of MiniPCI and 
doesn't have to do the Dell.  However, last time I talked with Emperor the 
Redhat install they used would run the Dell Broadcom wifi minipci cards.  If 
you haven't seen or used the accelerated graphics then it is well worth the 
time to check it out.
