I'm with you 100%.
Now please, would the person who hired the $20.00/hr Professional Lawn
Service Co. over the $8.50/hr spanish who can get the job done in the
same professional way raise you hand?
Also please, would the person who hired the $2,500.00 Professional
Carpet Co. over the $1,700.00 spanish/latino who can get the job done in
the same professional way raise you hand?
And how about that brick laying job you need done? Would you choose
"Mike Stevenson" at $30.00/hr or "Jose FromMexico" at $7.50/hr?
People complain about foreigners taking "their" jobs here all the time.
If they only practiced what they preach...
The law of things should apply to all things; people or businesses.
Businesses, just like us, are looking at the bottom line.
So now the world is smaller, everything is "global" and you have
competition. Complaining will do no good. Foreigners don't.
Foreigners found out that they can get jobs by saving $ to american
companies/individuals/small businesses. American
companies/individuals/small businesses responded by hiring them.
Capitalism of Corporate America; "more bang for the buck".
I think its time for those who complaint to re-invent themselves and
adapt to the "new economy".
People *do need* other skills (please see previous post in this thread)
for any job they apply for at this day-and-age. People skills, a second
(third?) language, etc. will definitely add up to a better job security.
I firmly believe that foreigners are embracing opportunities *in every
field* created by a job market (IT here) where you quite often find
things like these when hiring :
