[ale] PPTP issue that affects Linux but not Windows?

I'm glad you've got a solution that works.  No need to cut your nose off 
to spite your face, the important thing is, you've got a working 
environment.  Hopefully, you'll have time later to revisit the ipcop 
issue.  You might post to an ipcop list.
