You suprised me with this old post. Truthfully I did not fix. I have
minor issues in XP so I said to hell with fixing it in Linux. I like the
fact I have a 15" monitor but I beleive some products do one job and well
and that is it. I purchased an APEX unit from Circuit City and love it. It
has a 6.5" screen and can take A/V in. Be carefule because most will not
take A/V in and I want to paly Xbox on the road. The portable player
does a great job of playing DVDs.
IMO, PC's do not make good gaming machines. I own an Xbox and GBA SP for
that entertainment. If I can buty a PC game and run direclty off the CD
without any issues than I might chaneg my mind. but now you have to
install and pray all works well.
Some devices do one job well and that is it. I try not to make
my equipment wear all hats. PCs do PC work, consoles do games, and
DVD players play DVDs. However I am working on turning an old BookPC
into an MP3 and DivX player for home. Some people may disagree and try to
shove every little thing into a PC. I love having many gadgets. The
APEX rocks. Plus I get great battery life.
