It would be easier to just apply TiVonet to the TiVo and download the videos
convert them and burn them, then it would be to build a PVR from scratch.
Plus, it would take up less space, as the DirecTiVo has everything in one box
(the PVR and 2 tuners).

Ehhh... you *do* know that TIVO is basically a linux box with some
proprietary software tossed on top? I think there's an open-source
analog for said proprietary stuff, too.
Get a capture card, and a DVD burner, and you're nearly there. :-)
