Only if you care only for 2d.
General rules of thumb:
* best 2d (in terms of image quality) - matrox. Drivers are mostly open
source, though getting dualhead on G400 (not G450) requires binary only
stuff from matrox
* best 2d and 3d with open source drivers - ATI
* best 3d, closed source - NVIDIA
