[ale] home automation?

not with linux.  i use XTension, a Mac app.  the author is working on an OS
X-native version, not yet released.  shed.com.  my system (X10 stuff) is run by
a Mac Quadra 605...25MHz...lots of fun, and there seems to be no limit to things
you can do with it!
