[ale] openoffice debugging

I'm trying to paste an html table from mozilla into open office
spreedsheet (or oocalc RH 9).

I select the table contents, then click "Paste Special" in the
spreadsheet. I'm prompted for either "Unformatted text" or "HTML
(Hypertext Markup Language)".

When I choose HTML, I get "The contents of the clipboard could not be
pasted" in a pop up box. Unformatted text pastes ok, but really defeats
the purpose as the table is not split out into separate columns/rows.

Does anyone know how I can get more verbose information regarding the
error? I've searched for a log file, and there doesn't seem to be any.
I've taken a look at openoffice.org, and I get the feeling it'll take me
awhile to learn my way around that site. Their issue tracker doesn't turn
up any hits.

Also, could someone give this a try on their machine and see if it works?

Thanks!
John

(btw, the expected behavior, and one that is accomplished in the same
manner in Excel, is that the HTML table is split out into respective
columns/rows in the spreadsheet. As I mentioned, this works in Excel :( )
