[ale] First time trashing Linux

There is a thread on OpenBSD about the significance of perl - apparently it
is used in such programs as "adduser", "makewhatis", the pkg programs
(pkg_add, pkg_delete, etc).  So ... perhaps perl is used in the startup or
rather is required in Mandrake startups.
