[ale] Bellsouth to Speakeasy?

Since Bellsouth is now blocking port 25 outbound (not that I am using it,
but if I did I'd be pissed), I am thinking of switching to Speakeasy to
get a static IP address and true unfiltered internet.

Has anyone had problems qualify'ing for DSL from Speakeasy that is
currently connected to Bellsouth DSL? 3 years ago, I was unable to get
DSL because my home was too far away from the CO. Bellsouth built a
"remote CO" which got around the distance limitation... I am wondering if
Bellsouth only allows themselves to service resdidential DSL customers
from these remote CO's, and wont let 3rd party companies in.

I can see the financial reasoning for this, Bellsouth built the
infrastructure/facilities, so they *should* get the customers, but cant I
have my cake and eat it too? :)

tops of his boots, bit his hands, rolled his eyes in their sockets, sometimes
smiling and talking, and then seeming to be in an agony, until, in not more
than one minute, said he, 133,491,850,208,566,925,016,658,299,941,583,255!"
An electronic computer might do the job a little faster but it wouldn't be
as much fun to watch.
