[ale] KDE screensaver woes

I am fairly sure that it's the screensaver blanking.  I had it set to
five minutes initially, and it wouldn't blank till five minutes had
passed.  I set it for one minute to do some testing, and then it blanked
in a minute.  This would lead me to believe that it's not the screen
blanking.  I will try xset as well.  Has no one else experienced this?
