Grab a copy of memtest86 (http://www.memtest86.com/).  This code will give your
memory an incredible workout.  If you've got bad memory, it will let you know.

We just fixed a machine today that was spewing kernel panics when trying to
install Redhat.  Looked like a CPU issue because of the wording of the panic,
but memtest showed a big splotch of bad memory.  Took that DIMM out and it is
running like a champ.
