I am live on the Alabama Gulf Coast, just a few miles from Gulf Shores.
I survive here by working remotely for a company in California. There
only hi-tech jobs here are either in Pensacola, FL, which are mosly
defense contractors as far as I know, or you can look at QMS-Minolta (
http://www.qms.com/ ) or Accelerated Technology (
http://www.acceleratedtechnology.com/ ). Other than that you might find
some scattered Sysadmin jobs at some of the big hospitals, and such.
