Hmm, seems like they could have used it.  I think that with the problems 
they've had with the tiles, there should have been a plan to repair such 
a problem.

Uh, actually a couple 1000 degrees.  I've seen more then one reference 
to 2000-3000 degrees.

Everyone is going to try and second guess it until we know what went 
wrong.  I don't see any problem with a reasonable discussion regarding 
possible solutions.
